My fiance and I got engaged last weekend with a Ken & Dana design: the Brianne. I had loved this ring for months and was blown away that I had a creative, eco-friendly, and beautiful ring that I love even more in person.
My finace tells me that they were a pleasure to work with. He even thought ahead and bought the chevron wedding bands that we will put to good use next year in Savannah Georgia!!
Skilled artisans.. highly recommended.
Buying your engagement/wedding rings is (hopefully!) a once in a lifetime experience – so you owe it to yourself to buy the right rings from the right people. Having selected and purchased a ring from Ken & Dana, I know I made the right choice.
Ken & Dana offer beautiful (and well priced) rings that speak to your personality, not to a lowest common denominator taste factor that even high end corporate jewelers (e.g., Tiffany’s) adhere to. However, while their designs are unique, this is not to say they don’t read as timeless. We actually selected rings that look both modern and like family heirlooms. And hundreds of couples in, say, Minnesota, won’t be wearing the same ones!
The professional, thoughtful, and personal service we got from Patty should also be mentioned. She made what can be a stressful purchase a breeze while respecting our taste and budget. We had some custom work done on our pieces and the process was refreshingly uncomplicated. The whole crew at Ken & Dana (the showroom is an extension of their workshop) seemed genuinely interested in making us happy with our rings.
I get the appeal of the pretty blue box from Tiffany’s but shouldn’t you treat one of life’s most important milestones with a little more personalized care?
As an aside, we are a same-sex couple: Ken & Dana were fabulous to work with in that regard, making us feel as comfortable and special as any other of their clients.
My fiance wanted something that was made neither at expense of the environment or of others. She also requested that I find an engagement ring without a diamond as she did not want to support that industry and second she wanted something that was unique. So that left me with a large task; until I came across Ken and Dana after my fiance showed me a Pintrest posting of one of their rings. The website was well polished and the limited number of rings available made the quality and uniqueness of the rings even more potent. They also had a rather large selection of non-diamond engagement rings which made me very interested.
So, I contacted the store and Patty responded quickly to my questions. I flipped back and forth between different rings and Patty accommodated my erratic nature gracefully. On the rings I was interested in I was provided with little clips of them on a model’s hand. These clips really helped solidify the ring that I eventually chose; the Daffodil.
The ring came quickly, wrapped nicely in several layers of varying sized boxes. It was the correct size and was even more pretty than it was on the website. And the greatest thing of all is that my fiance loves it so very much! She has also gotten so many compliments about it since the day she received it.
I plan to purchase the matching wedding band come our wedding next Summer.
I definitely recommend Ken and Dana!
I found Ken & Dana while looking for designers who use ethically sourced diamonds. I saw the Jeein design on their website and immediately fell in love with it. I cannot say enough kind words about Ken and Patty, who were so incredibly helpful through the entire process! They helped us pick out a center stone within our budget, and then Patty took it from there with my fiance so that the rest could be a suprise for me. When my fiance proposed and I finally got to see the ring in person, it was more beautiful than I could have imagined. I’ve gotten so many compliments already (5 days into our engagement!) about how beautiful, unique, and sparkly the ring is. I highly recommend them to anyone in the market for an engagement ring!!!
Ken & Dana Design create such beautiful rings, which is certainly evidenced on their lovely website. I wear the Daya and Selene rings, both in rose gold, as my engagement ring and wedding band, and it’s not uncommon to have a conversation once a week with a stranger that goes something like this: “Whoa, let me see those rings. I’ve never seen anything like that before. They’re so beautiful!” The conversation typically ends with me giving out their website information and encouraging folks to go look online. :)
Ken & Dana was the only place my partner and I visited when looking for engagement rings a while back – their designs caught our eye (we were looking for rose gold, unique, ethically sourced metals and stones, and organic designs), and we had such a lovely visit in their shop. Not only did we feel comfortable looking at and trying on several different rings, we also felt very comfortable discussing different gemstone options, including options for moissanite, which was ultimately what we decided on.
We corresponded via email when it came time to order bands, and had quick and informative exchanges with Patty about band options to pair with the Daya – she sent a few different kinds of options that weren’t on the web – and decided to check out the Selene, which I promptly fell in love with. :)
Highly highly recommend!
