My review: I’m so happy that my fiance and I found Ken & Dana Design! I wanted to help him pick out my engagement ring – I don’t normally wear much jewelry and I didn’t really know what kind of ring I would like, but I knew I wanted something unique. I liked that Ken & Dana had so many different styles that don’t look like every other engagement ring you see. Our experience at their studio was perfect. Patty and Ken made us feel at ease and I had fun trying on several rings, which were even more gorgeous in person than on the website. I fell in love with the Majesty, which has beautiful detail and fit perfectly with my style. I highly recommend Ken & Dana, and I’m looking forward to going back soon to look at wedding bands.
My fiance’s review: Patty and Ken were both wonderful throughout the process. They were friendly, helpful, and trustworthy from our first visit to the last. When it came time to pick a stone, Ken walked me through the process, sourced some beautiful stones to choose from, and provided frank, honest input – including letting me know that, if I cared about appearance more than ratings or appraisal value, I could buy a stone of lower clarity and color than I thought without noticing any appreciable difference to the unaided eye. And when I asked to have the ring ready in time for a weekend getaway proposal, Patty and Ken made it happen. In short, I had a great experience and highly recommend Ken & Dana Design.
I couldn’t have had a more pleasant experience working with Patty at Ken and Dana Design. They kept an open communication channel via email and made the process fast and easy. Thank You Ken and Dana Design for such a beautiful ring that my fiance and all of our family and friends absolutely love.
This review is long overdue. I’ve told soooo many people about Ken & Dana Design the second they even glance at my ring or ask about our engagement story…but decided I should definitely write about it too. First of all, my fiancé proposed with a pear shaped diamond and left it up to us to create a unique setting for the stone. Ken & Dana offered the most unique setting than all the other designers we visited around the city. We chose a wave band setting and added our own modifications to it. Ken was extremely patient, warm and took the time to create several sketches. Patty also worked with us and kindly kept us informed about the process and pick up date. Each time we to Ken & Dana, you don’t sense any sales pressure but rather an inviting atmosphere and a sensitivity to the importance of such a huge/creative decision. We will definitely have Ken & Dana design our bands…and we’ll continue to tell our friends, acquaintances, and strangers about how great of a job they did! I LOVE MY RING! Thanks again Ken & Dana Design!
Deciding to get engaged was easy, but getting engaged wasn’t so simple. Sarah and I knew we wanted to be married several months before I began ring shopping. She’d browsed hundreds of sites and filled a Pinterest board with ring ideas she was certain she’d want. I still remember the day we planned to look over rings so she could get an understanding of what she wanted. We’re both pretty familiar with the city and though neither of us ever spent much money on jewelry, we knew the diamond district was the place to go. I scheduled six different appointments over the course of the day, leaving Ken & Dana for last since they weren’t in the district. Appointment after appointment we saw the same rings over and over. There’s nothing wrong with picking a typical ring that looks factory made with thousands of replicas, but I wasn’t looking for that. I wanted a ring as unique and beautiful as my future wife. In between appointments we browsed the other jewelers, but found much of the same – jewelers looking to make a sale, not a relationship. Finally, after an exhausting and somewhat demoralizing day, we met with Ken and Patty of Ken and Dana Designs.
I didn’t know what to think. They didn’t have a storefront and weren’t in the diamond district where I was convinced I’d find the ring of her dreams. I’d been deflated from a day of reoccurring disappointments and was ready for one final appointment before I returned home to scour the Internet for new leads. Needless to say, I didn’t have any searching to do after we met. As soon as I walked in I felt welcomed, comforted, and reinvigorated at the prospect of finding the perfect ring. Ken and Patty welcomed us as if we were meeting in their home to discuss plans for a community fundraiser or some other event. It was completely unassuming and dissimilar from every other person we had met with. We sat down with Ken and began looking over rings.
Ken began taking notes and learning about us as people. He didn’t even bother making suggestions until he had a better understanding of our story, our personalities, and our tastes. It may seem hyperbolic, but Ken seemed to be studying our souls and looking for the perfect ring to match Sarah’s. After some searching and discussion, we found the one. He didn’t have it in the color we wanted and the stone wasn’t the size I needed, but we knew we found the ring of her dreams. I was ecstatic Sarah was so happy, but more so that I found a partner to help make her wedding ring perfect.
Ken and Patty of Ken and Dana Designs were exceptional from the big things to the little things. Whether it was Ken working to meet my budget while still getting me a remarkable ring or Patty sending me high definition videos of the different stones so I could look them over without traveling back and forth to the city, I will never forget the incredible experience I had purchasing with them. We have since been in touch with them for a re-sizing, cleaning, and to look at wedding bands. Their after-sale support has been as helpful as their pre-sale efforts and for that we’re both relieved and appreciative. Though I’ve used plenty here, I don’t think I’ll ever find the right words to thank them for making this the first of many memorable experiences in our engaged/married life. Thank you Ken and Patty – for everything.
My experience with Ken and Dana design began a mere month ago. My now fiancé’s best friend was helping me pick out a ring for my girl. The two ladies had previously spoken and my gal really liked the unique beauty and socially responsible approach of the shop. With an idea of what to look for I was off. As this wasn’t the only option that my fiancé recommended I did a tremendous amount of research into each of the different styles of rings, always coming back to Ken and Dana’s site. As the comparisons became more about comparing other rings to theirs I realized that I didn’t need to search among all the various ring options and narrowed down to just Ken and Dana designs.
I loved so many, between the Devi (what I bought), Pricilla, Elise, among others, I became I bit stuck on what to get (disclaimer, my fiancé was very clear, no diamonds). With the help of Patty I was able to not only make the decision on which setting but she was able to find the perfect stone. Everything I asked for and more! I couldn’t be happier with their speed, quality, and customer service.
I wholeheartedly recommend Ken and Dana to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, unique ring. They are a true pleasure to work with!
