Tatiana's botanical details are carved by hand. An artisan guides a graver—a tiny, razor-sharp engraving tool—through the metal to create every leaf vein and contour one cut at a time. Genuine hand engraving is a dying jewelry art with very few highly skilled practitioners left, and the engraving work alone can take a full day at the bench. When the motif begins as original artwork, the engraver is effectively translating a drawing into precious metal by hand.
