The engraving is carved into the ring by hand with a graver, a sharpened steel tool controlled entirely by the artisan. Every small curve and cut is made individually; the engraving alone requires at least a full day of focused work. With so few jewelry artisans still practicing true hand engraving, the technique has become something worth preserving—and something fundamentally different from decoration that is cast or machine-applied.
