Skyla gives a pear-shaped center the romance of an heirloom and the drama of ruby. Hand-engraved ornament travels through the setting, while six vivid red rubies—three on either side—bring a regal flash of color against the bright center.
The engraving is one of the most important parts of Skyla. A skilled artisan cuts each line directly into the precious metal with a graver, a sharpened hand tool controlled entirely by eye and touch. True hand engraving has become a rare bench art, and a ring this detailed can require a full day or more devoted to the engraving alone. Against that labor-intensive surface, the pear center feels especially graceful and the rubies add just enough color to make the design unmistakable.
