Simone - Round

Simone places a brilliant round diamond above a band whose beauty is created the slow way. The solitaire silhouette is deliberately regal and restrained, allowing the hand-engraved metalwork to become the ornament rather than surrounding the center with additional stones.

Each engraved line is cut directly into the metal by an artisan using a graver, a small sharpened steel tool. There is no stamp doing the work and no machine drawing the pattern: depth, curve and rhythm are created by hand, one cut at a time. Genuine hand engraving is a disappearing jewelry art practiced by relatively few artisans, and Simone’s engraving alone requires at least a full day at the bench. The result has a crispness and individuality that only handwork can give.

Simone is for the person who values workmanship more than obvious excess. She wants a ring with presence, history and evidence of the maker’s hand—the sort of object that becomes more impressive, not less, under magnification.
