Calliope wraps an oval diamond in one continuous gesture. Two bypassing bands curve toward the center in opposing lines, their surfaces enriched with hand-engraved scrollwork and fine milgrain that make the metal feel almost illustrated.
The 2.0mm band gives the engraving enough room to be appreciated without distracting from the elongated oval. Because the shank never settles into a straight line, the eye keeps moving around the ring, discovering carved detail and vintage texture from angle to angle.
The engraving is not a texture applied by machine; it is carved into the metal by hand. Using a graver, a highly skilled artisan cuts each line, curve and recess one stroke at a time, controlling depth and direction entirely by feel. It is a disappearing jewelry art, and a detailed ring can demand a full day or more of concentrated bench work before the engraving is complete.
