To compel me to write a positive review on yelp it would have to be a truly fantastic experience and my experience of Ken & Dana Design was just that.
As a total novice with very vague ideas of what I was looking for, Ken really helped me hone in on the specifics. The end result was a ring that when I surprised my girlfriend turned out to be exactly what she wanted.
The great thing about Ken & Dana Design is that they listen and offer suggestions but never try to push their own agenda they simply want to get the best result for the customer.
The prices are very good considering the level of personal service that you get relative to some of the more mainstream outlets.
This is an amazing company!
I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, specifically while searching for a wedding band for myself.
I waited until the last minute and thought for sure that nobody would be able to make a ring for me with a week to go before my wedding day. My Wife-to-be was quickly losing patience with my daily assurances that I would “find something”.
I found K&D’s website from a NY magazine article. When I saw the Juno wedding band I knew that it was exactly what I was looking for.
I inquired about it at around 10:30pm via email. To my amazement, Patty responded right away with some general questions and a good bit of humor to boot, considering my predicament!
The next morning she confirmed that the ring could indeed be made in time to save me from the horrors of having to purchase some crappy mass-produced ring that I didn’t really want.
The ring was ready as stated and is simply beautiful. Amazing craftsmanship.
It fits perfectly considering that I sent my ring measurement in via email.
I could not be happier with the amazing service (Thank you Patty!) and the fine craftsmanship that I received from Ken & Dana Design.
Thank you!
Dave-
I didn’t think these reviews could possibly be right, but they are. On a visit to NYC, Ken spent tons of time with me talking about exactly what I wanted – a replica of my aunt’s wedding ring (which doesn’t exist anymore). We talked and talked and talked and he took copious notes.
As they made the ring, Patty sent me photos (I’m in DC) and I made comments (“smoother, and thinner please,” for example). They were so eager to make exactly what I wanted. It arrived yesterday, and I closed my eyes as my fiance opened it and slipped it onto my finger. It felt perfect. I opened my eyes and was delighted – it’s so simple and elegant.
I would definitely highly recommend Ken + Dana Design for any of your custom jewelry needs.
I contacted them from afar (email!) after my girlfriend expressed interest in one of their designs. The design happened to be an older “model”, but that wasn’t an issue. I corresponded with Patty, who answered all my questions quickly (and I had quite a few, having never done this before ;). She was also excited for me and my girlfriend, which was pretty awesome.
Patty kept me updated on the progress of the ring, which took a week or two to make (I expect because they had to get the stone from an outside source, which Patty mentioned was a special cut) and then shipped out very quickly.
Prices were about what I was expecting; not high, but not cheap. This is fine, since the rings are both beautiful. These guys are awesome, even if you’re not anywhere close to New York.
After having visiting several of the larger local jewelry stores, my girlfriend (now fiance) turned to the internet in search of a ring that was a little more unique. After discovering the daya ring on Ken and Dana’s website, she had her heart set.
The ordering process was simple and easy, and I was kept informed via email on the progress of the ring. I received the ring very promptly- well before the average predicted time (4-6 weeks). Needless to say, my girlfriend loved the way the ring turned out and she said yes to my proposal. I would recommend KDD to any of my friends and family. Special thanks to Patty H.
