Talia looks like a fragment of forest translated into precious metal. An asymmetrical split shank carries hand-engraved bark toward a horizontally set pear-shaped green sapphire, while leafy prongs and two marquise diamonds make the composition feel as though it is still growing.
The band moves from approximately 1.7mm to 3.3mm, giving the organic structure real dimension. Two colorless VS marquise diamonds totaling about 0.08 carats provide flashes of white light against the green center and textured metal.
The bark is carved entirely by hand. An engraver uses a graver—a small, extremely sharp hand tool—to cut each fissure, line and contour directly into the metal, building the surface mark by mark. Genuine hand engraving is a dying art in jewelry, and only a small number of artisans still possess this level of skill. The engraving alone can require a full day of concentrated bench work; when the pattern begins as original KDD artwork, every cut is the artisan's translation of that drawing into permanent relief.
Talia is for the person who would choose a mossy trail over a manicured garden. She is artistic, independent and unafraid of color, and wants her engagement ring to feel like a small piece of the natural world made only for her.
