Skyla Sapphire frames an oval diamond in old-world detail and vivid blue. Three sapphires on each side bring a regal note of color to the ornate silhouette, while hand engraving turns the metal itself into part of the artwork.
Every engraved detail is carved directly into the ring by a skilled artisan using a graver—a small, sharpened steel tool guided by hand one line at a time. It is painstaking work that cannot be rushed: the engraving alone requires at least a full day at the bench. True hand engraving has become a dying art in jewelry, with relatively few craftspeople still able to execute this level of miniature carving. The result has a crispness, depth and individuality that stamped or machine-applied decoration simply cannot reproduce.
