My fiance and I were so pleased to find Ken & Dana. They did such a beautiful job of cleaning a family ring, finding a new stone, and setting it in a way that felt so natural and perfect.
Ken was a pleasure to work with, and was kind enough to put a rush on our order so that I could give my soon-to-be wife the ring on her birthday.
Thanks guys.
When I started to talk about the possibility of an engagement in the near future, one of my girlfriend’s friends sent her a link to some of ken + dana’s designs that had been featured in a blog post somewhere. My girlfriend absolutely loved the rings. Noted.
I think it’s silly to not involve your gilfriend in the purchase of an extremely significant piece of jewelry that she’ll be wearing for the rest of her life, so I ordered a sample of one of ken + dana’s rings and had it sent to us. My girlfriend said that it was “the one.” That was good enough for me.
We took a trip down to New York to see their pieces in person; they were gorgeous, and Ken even agreed to go into the studio on Sunday to see us and answer any questions we had. He was very helpful and friendly — he even gave us an awesome, awesome lunch recommendation after the place we’d meant to go turned out to be closed.
I ended up buying a diamond at home, in Boston, and having it sent back to New York with a friend; they had the ring made within two weeks and shipped to me. I took it to an independent gemologist and appraiser, who said that it was the most unique ring he’d seen all year, and that it looked to be very well-crafted.
Ken was extremely helpful throughout the entire process, answering any emails/phone calls I sent his way, which is great when you’re having such an important thing built in a different city, away from your own two eyes. And the ring? It’s gorgeous — even to someone such as myself, who doesn’t care much for jewelry. My girlfriend — er, fiancee — is absolutely in love with it. Can’t recommend ken + dana highly enough! They made a potentially painful process very, very easy, with exceptional results to boot.
I’ve known since about two minutes after I met Jenny that I wanted to be with her for the rest of my life The only reason that I waited so long was to make sure that she wanted to be with me That and the fact the she said she would except a string tied around her finger for an engagement ring My fiancé (from now on will be called “to be” ’cause I really hate the word fiancé)showed me a ring from Ken + Dana Design ( KDD) last March I, being the awesome guy that I am, stored that bit of information away and started the search for the perfect diamond to set on the Aurora ring
Not having any idea of what to look for besides a big shiny thing, I contacted Ken and he pretty much walked through what to look for and what to avoid when searching for a diamond I will spare you the details of looking for a diamond but size does matter but so does quality and GIA certified is the way to ensure you know what you are getting
Ken was extremely helpful throughout the whole process and I hope he doesn’t hate me for peppering him with a thousand questions
On December 21st, 2011 at 7 in the morning, I woke Jenny up and told her things that I wont put here and then asked her to marry me
She said “Yes!”
I couldn’t have been happier with her reaction to the ring She was surprised that I remembered the ring she told me about months earlier She loves it and I know that she doesn’t look at other rings with envy Now I have to save up for the wedding band http://shop.kenanddana…
These guys rule! I first stumbled across their website in a search for a “non-conventional” engagement ring. I could not be happier with this discovery.
From the get-go, Ken was incredibly easy to work with. He helped me turn my idea into a product that was exactly what I was looking for. He quickly sourced a number of stones that fit my criteria and objectively helped me make a decision. He gave good advice in terms of where I would be overpaying for something and not really getting the value out of it. He gave great critiques of each ring, each metal, each stone, that were honest and also showed that he was paying very close attention to what I was looking for. He was really just helpful, nice, creative, and easygoing. No pressure. Zero attitude. And he followed thru on every promise. I couldn’t give enough praise to this, in what I’m sure can easily turn into a stressful not to mention expensive experience
Of the 4 times I was at their studio, I met Dana and his wife, Rad, twice. They were perfect complements to Ken’s style, and really helped me pull the trigger once I’d found the one that I liked. Together, they present a variety of different ideas and styles, that are also cohesive.
Overall it was just a great experience that I’d do again and again, but for the fact that I am madly in love with my present fiance — who, by the way, LOVES her ring!
Ken and Dana Design is fantastic! My fiancée and I wanted a jeweler that could provide the following: a personal relationship/experience, a custom-designed ring (created to our specifications), a strong ethical commitment, experience in alternative design and stones, good prices, and gay-friendly attitude. I found it all in KDD. I feel very fortunate to have worked with KDD, and plan to work with them again in the future.
When first inquired about the ring, and Ken immediately took my call. Ken was an active listener and was very focused on honing in on precisely what I wanted. At the same time, Ken did not hesitate to make suggestions that he felt would better suit my specifications. Ken was extremely attentive, and I have to really credit him for that because I was extremely vociferous. I believe I exchanged over thirty emails with him, and he was always patient. He even emailed to check up on us a few days after the scheduled proposal!
In addition to the wonderful service, the execution is breathtaking. The ring looks so brilliant and gorgeous, it is as if it is plugged in! Once we had the stone and setting selected, the ring was created within two weeks. For information’s sake, the ring is a lab created blue sapphire, set in palladium, haloed with pave diamonds. The return policy is a very nice safety net, though one that I am very glad that I did not have to use. I believe that I paid a very fair price for the ring, and I made no compromises about the quality of our requirements.
My fiancée is now in the market for my ring, and I am pretty sure that she will go to KDD. Stay tuned for updates!
