We met on the Hinge Dating app. I am an orthopedic/stroke nurse and he is a paramedic firefighter. When we first met he had asked me on a date and I totally brushed over, said no but carried on a conversation through the app. He eventually "ghosted" me since I declined his date which made me realize I missed talking to him. I sent "hi" and from then on we had our first date at a local bar for a drink which turned into talking late into the evening and the next day we talked on the phone for like 6 hours and the rest is history.

We knew we wanted to get a ring from Ken and Dana due to their unique designs. We met with a consultant virtually in June which was amazing but we ultimately put the engagement on hold because we bought a house in August. And then in January we picked out our ring's metal and from then on the process was a secret.

On March 13, he took me to a waterfall in Galena, Illinois which we had previously visited (in May) and thought was so beautiful. During out initial visit when walking through the Galena shops we came across a glass cutting board with the exact waterfall on it and we just had to have it for our many charcuterie boards in our future home (which came in August).

We visited the waterfall in March and while taking what I thought was a couple picture he looked at me and said "Kelsey Taylor will you marry me?" And the rest was a blur. I have already gotten so many compliments and many have told me that my ring "is the prettiest ring they've ever seen and they've never seen anything like it." I love vintage-inspired jewelry and this ring was everything I wanted and more. Nick detailed the ring purchasing process and it was created and mailed even sooner than he expected it!
