Adam and I met when we were DJs at our college radio station, Seton Hall’s 89.5 WSOU. We were just acquaintances throughout college until we bumped into each other at the Liberty Science Center four years later! We only spoke for about 30 seconds that night, but instantly felt a connection and became friendlier with each other afterwards. We started dating on Valentine’s Day 2020, after I tweeted “It’s Valentine’s Day, if you think I’m cute you’re legally obligated to tell me” hoping he would answer it! He sent me a DM in response and we went on our first date four days later. In the years since then, we’ve dealt with a pandemic, loss, and other hardships, but learned that we can get through anything together and come out stronger.I had been sending Adam engagement rings that I liked on Instagram, including some from Ken and Dana Designs. He knew that I liked timeless, classic rings and felt that Ken and Dana fit the vibe perfectly. When he visited the studio, he felt instantly comfortable with the staff and greatly appreciated how welcoming and knowledgeable they were.
Last September, we went on vacation to Isla Mujeres, Mexico. The day after we arrived, Adam rented a golf cart to drive us to the Mayan Ruins on the southern cliffs of the island, which were absolutely gorgeous. He proposed on a cliff overlooking the ocean and had hired a photographer to shoot the whole thing! We spent a few hours taking photos around the island afterwards, then went out to celebrate with tacos and margaritas. We also FaceTimed our families to share the good news! When we got back to our hotel, the manager had arranged a congratulatory bottle of champagne and desserts! It was so fun and felt like such a celebration.
While I had suspected that Adam was proposing, I had no idea which ring he picked out and was surprised and stunned by the results! My ring is beautiful and I’m so in love with it. We get so many compliments every time a friend or family member asks to see it. We can’t wait to get married on September 21, 2024.
