Ben & I met the first night of medical school, when a fire alarm went off at 2AM in our dorms and he witnessed me taking a faceplant down a flight of stairs right in front of him as I was trying to run down 20 flights of stairs in my flip flops. From there, we built a wonderful friendship over our first year as medical students, even being assigned together in the same anatomy lab group. We began dating our second year of medical school, and grew together as we navigated the highs and lows of building our careers.
In our final year of medical school, we were both fortunate enough to match at our top choice of residency programs in Maine. We quickly fell in love with everything Maine had to offer as we made a home for ourselves here and we embarked on so many new adventures together! After a little over five years of dating, he proposed and we celebrated at the Portland Headlight, one of the first places in Maine that we had visited and fell in love with. He did an incredible job with the ring selection, as Ken & Dana had rings with nature-themed accents that spoke to our love for exploring this world. We can’t wait to celebrate our marriage with family and friends in the future, and having a meaningful proposal with the perfect ring was the best start to this lifelong journey!
