We met through the most Gen Z way possible - Instagram!!! But the difference is in the fact that I reached out to him, as I found him very charming and handsome. About 3 months after getting to know one another, Tarish made the trip down from Dallas to Houston and we spent the most magical weekend with one another, where we absolutely knew this was one to last. He officially asked me to be his girlfriend about 2 months later when he came down for my birthday weekend!
Fast forward about 4 years, we decided to take a trip to San Diego as a way to relax and getaway from the hustle and bustle of work. Going on trips was a very normal thing for us as we both enjoy traveling. Just as our other trips, we planned our week itinerary and had loads of things planned for the week!
Being in a place as beautiful as San Diego, we found ourselves at the beach very often through the duration of our trip. On Monday, August 18th, we started our morning at the gorgeous Torrey Pines Hike and hiked for about 2.5 miles across the reserve and the ocean. We stopped for our lunch and decided to head back to take a quick nap before our dinner we reserved at a highly sought after place! Since we always make a habit of enjoying one fine dining dinner night in a new city, nothing seemed alarming. As I was getting ready, Tarish insisted that we stopped by the beach prior to dinner as our trip was coming up to an end. Being a time-consuming girl that always enjoys the process of getting dressed and applying my makeup, I refused mentioning that we had gone to the beach countless times and I was just excited to grab some yummy Italian dinner. Very strategically, he somehow told us that the beach was on the way and our reservation is a lot later anyways, that he wouldn’t ‘mind’ checking out the sunset one more time. He knew my infatuation with sunsets would convince me, so I finally gave in and he drove us to La Jolla, and as I walked outside, I saw the proposal setup! I immediately melted. Nonetheless, he surprised me and it was the most STRIKING sunset of all time with all the pelicans flying around us! He did his number on this one!!!
I totally was NOT expecting to be engaged until the holidays, but here we are!! Now we will be celebrating our large engagement party with our friends and family in January!!
