Theresa: Garret and I first met at a college Halloween party, where we ended up bonding over a shared (and questionably flavored) sour apple Four Loko. Somewhere between the chaos and the fake blood, I asked if he wanted to make out—and without missing a beat, he said, “Hell yeah!” Seven years later, here we are.
I’d had Ken & Dana Designs on my Pinterest board for ages—your rings always stood out to me for their romantic styles. But beyond aesthetics, I was really drawn to your values, especially your ethical practices and fair pricing. When I went on deep dives on Reddit, I noticed people genuinely had glowing reviews.
Garret: I remember her casually showing me some rings and saying, “If you ever propose, something like this would be cool.” I took mental notes. Ken & Dana had everything I was looking for—the designs felt personal, meaningful, and totally her.
I originally wanted to propose near Lucas Valley Road in Marin County, close to one of our first date spots. But with our schedules not lining up, I had to rethink it. I spent weeks driving around LA and Orange County, trying to find something that felt just right. When I saw the sunset in Huntington Beach, something about it clicked—I knew that was the place.
Theresa: I had a feeling the proposal was coming that weekend, and I thought I had the timeline figured out… but when the moment actually came, I was totally caught off guard. It was sweet, intimate, and silly—just the way I’d always hoped.
We’ve attached some photos from that day. Also, the ring he chose for me was the Simone. Let us know if you need anything else—we’re so grateful for the care and thoughtfulness behind your work.
