We make love stories come to life in a quiet nook in beautiful NYC. Since 2003, we've had the privilege of working with thousands of couples—here are just a few of their stories.
Jenna & Matthew
Matthew came to us in 2021 to create a custom ring for Jenna. Jenna knew she wanted a lab grown diamond ring with some surprises, so with the addition of a hidden halo, a marquise diamond band, and leaf-like prongs that symbolize their love for nature, our Elaine was born.
Matthew proposed to Jenna on a rooftop overlooking San Miguel de Allende at sunset. San Miguel is Jenna's favorite place, and Matthew organized a 10-day trip around Mexico for them to celebrate their engagement.
Angela & Mitch
"I knew that Angela wasn't a big showy traditional ring girl and it was more important that her ring be unique and match her personality! She is a lover of nature and the earthy bark and leaves designs of KDD immediately struck me! The stormy one of a kind salt and pepper diamond made it even more incredible. A week or two after looking through your website I was sent on an out of the blue customer job site vist in Brooklyn and I took that as destiny's sign pushing me into your showroom! I sat down with Ariel and bought a setting that day. We worked through some stone options over email and all that was left was for me to ask the question. Surrounded by nature at the foot of our Colorado mountains she said yes! We were married 6 months later and our crazy beautiful life continues to unfold before us day by day!"
Anne & Evan
"We met freshman year of high school — I had just moved and one of my first friends at school introduced us. In the 12 years since, we moved cross country to New York for college, supported each other in school and our careers, and found our chosen family here in the city. For the proposal, Evan knew I would want the moment to be low-key and shared with our closest friends, so he planned an intimate dinner at one of our favorite neighborhood pizza spots (with the help of our friend/ photographer, Marilyn), and popped the question just as the pies had come out.
The team at Ken and Dana was great to work with from start to finish when it came to creating an engagement ring that felt totally ours, and they even sent videos of the ring stacked with specific bands when I inquired about them after our appointment. We would definitely recommend Ken and Dana to other couples looking for a personalized experience that makes you feel heard every step of the way." — Anne
Hillary & Lance
"I chose Ken & Dana Design because of their commitment to sustainability through the use of lab grown diamonds and recycled materials. They are a small, family-owned business and my now husband and I have been enamored with their work since we first visited their studio in 2020.
Nature is extremely important to our relationship and has influenced my diamond choice, ring design, dress, flowers, and ultimately our wedding venue. My husband proposed at the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park in October 2020 and we were married in early September 2021 in Glacier National Park. Our hiking elopement was an absolute dream come true!
In our day-to-day life we recycle, eat local food, and practice the 'Leave No Trace' principle whenever we enjoy the great outdoors." — Hillary
