Location: Two Rivers Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park
In our words:
We met when we were both living in Chicago. We both work in finance and were able to bond quickly over our love of adventure and food. We began traveling together and found that we also shared a passion for the outdoors. In 2021 we moved to Colorado. My family came to Rocky Mountain National Park regularly throughout my childhood, and it was so special to share the place I love with Dima.
We chose Ken and Dana after I fell in love with their designs online. I didn’t think I had much of an opinion about rings, but when I saw Ken and Dana’s designs I was wowed. I loved that they were a small business, handcrafting gorgeous designs and also willing to customize. We even made a trip out to New York to see them in person! I loved all the of the vintage and nature-inspired looks, it was up to Dima to choose!
On one of our weekend trips out to Rocky Mountain National Park in the spring we went snowshoeing to Two Rivers Lake. It was a beautiful sunny day, but the wind was whipping snow in our faces and I was starting to suggest we turn around, even though we were pretty close to the lake. Dima wanted to continue on, and thankfully the wind died down a bit.
We got to the lake, with a beautiful view of Notchtop Mountain, and Dima got down on a knee (in snowshoes!) and proposed. I was so surprised and thrilled. He customized a ring and the details and thought put into it made me get a bit teary! It has a twisted band, which he customized with one plain band and one with diamonds. It’s a beautiful representation of two separate things coming together. His choice of Two Rivers Lake also fit into this theme. It was a magical day, and definitely worth the blisters we got!
