My fiancé and I met over seven years ago during our junior year in high school. We were both in our school’s musical, Mary Poppins, in the ensemble. We connected after having some scenes together.

My engagement ring actually features kite shaped side diamonds to represent when we flew kites together for a scene. The band has an engraving that features the tail of a kite.

I chose Ken & Dana Design after searching for custom ring designers. I did a lot of searching and stumbled upon a reddit post that recommended you. I checked out your website and fell in love with they style of many of your rings. I also loved that you had a heavy focus on sustainability which was super important to me and why I went with a lab diamond. I also love that the company was not a chain and I felt good knowing I was supporting an independently-owned business. I also tried to look for an Asian-owned business and loved reading on the history of the company and Ken’s story. I had the pleasure of working with Stephanie during the design process and she was wonderful! I definitely had high expectations and a ton of questions, and she was so patient with me and so thorough in her emails. It’s crazy to me that my ring was brought to life from emails and drawings alone.

We are from Michigan but took a trip to NYC (my favorite city) for my spring break. The proposal was simple, sweet, and perfect. He took me to the High Line. Though I’ve been to NYC several times, this was a first for me. The views of the city right before and during sunset were amazing! I could tell something was happening because he was very nervous. When he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, he opened the ring box and it was actually upside down! I think this is what we are laughing about in the proposal photo!
