In our words:

Why we chose KDD: I found you through social media and I fell in love with the styling, ethical practices, and I loved that you were local to NYC. I was also able to visit and try on all the rings.

Love story: we met online in 2020 during the pandemic. Mike had just lost his mother, and having been through the same experience, I reached out to him for the first time online to offer my support. From that point on, we bonded very quickly and found out we had many of the same interests and that our personalities matched extremely well. His optimistic attitude paired well with my realistic perspective of the world. A half glass full with a half glass empty makes a full glass? At first he would visit my apartment during his work shift, dropping off food or treats. Sometimes, I would open my front door and see a bag of candy with a note on it. And then we started going to the gym together and having long talks in the car after.

Eventually he asked me out on a date. I was slow to come around, but from day one he was already telling friends, "that's my future wife." A couple months later I realized I wanted to be with him, so asked him to be my boyfriend on a handwritten card. He wrote on it a 3rd option for "I'll think about it" and then checked off yes, obviously.

Fast forward to right before our 2 year anniversary. He was already telling me beforehand he would propose on our anniversary to keep things tidy and easy to remember. We joked about this a lot. But to throw me off a bit, he planned for it on his birthday, which is just one week before our anniversary anyway. He had our friend, Dee, hide at the top of hill to take photos and a video. As I walked up the hill, I saw her...she was cowering down and pretending not to be there. Great hiding spot! So I pretended she wasn't there either and walked past her. Mike had planned a picnic with flowers and wine. And I turned around to him getting down on one knee and handing me a card. Coming full circle on the cards, he asked me to marry him on it. I circled yes. We are planning on an elopement next year
