In their words:
Kayla’s sister and I used to work together and became best friends which is how I met Kayla and the rest of her family. Kayla and I started officially dating in January 2023. We remember jokingly telling each other “we’ll be engaged by the end of the year!” and believe it or not, that Fall we were sitting in the showroom at Ken and Dana designing our custom engagement rings!

 

We have silly pictures of each other when the rings were finalized of both of us trying on our rings with our eyes closed. We customized them ourselves, so we knew what they looked like, especially after seeing the 3-D renderings, but wanted to be surprised seeing the real ring in person!

 

January 2024 we took a trip to Florida to visit my grandparents. I had a feeling Kayla was going to propose so I packed her engagement ring as well and carried it around with me everywhere we went that weekend. My grandparents are in their 90s and are unfortunately not healthy enough to travel on an airplane. Kayla knew they would not be able to attend our wedding in New York so she wanted them to be a part of the engagement. My grandparents live in a beautiful gated community and Kayla popped the question on a dock alongside one of the lakes in their community. Thankfully, I was carrying around her engagement ring in my purse, and I was able to ask her back!!

 

We were able to capture the engagement with a few pictures but recently had an engagement photo shoot to include our puppy this April.
